From Digital Truck Scale, trucks will proceed to a parking lot for rice sampling. Our staff will take samples to inspect for any pseudo-mix. The sampling is performed in both physical test and chemical test. The physical test begins with taking samples from each truck and putting them forward to length and size comparison, and moisture measurement. Data are collected and recorded for a statistic of each origin, Regarding the chemical test. Uthai Produce Co., Ltd. owns an advanced laboratory and rice inspection facility, which are equipped to perform examination precisely and accurately To start with, rice samples are to be put into a divider in which they will be intermixed and sorted into batches for the next 5 inspections. Whitening inspection by Whitening Meter indicates whiteness of rice grains in percentage. Cooking inspection is carried out by preparing rice samples of 100 grains per batch and cooking them for 16 minutes, then, mashing them on a test plate. Jasmine rice will be well cooked but other kinds of white rice will have brittle remains. Alcohol dyeing Is the next inspection whereby rice samples are soaked in alcohol, rinsed clean, and then soaked in color dye. Dyeing process takes about 5 minutes. Other kinds of white rice will turn more purple than jasmine rice. Amelose test and spectrophotometer process begins with grinding rice samples into powder, taking specific amount by weight and mixing them with prepared chemical in a magnetic shaker. Then iodine is added before examining with a spectrophotometer to find if an amelose percentage matches the company�s requirement. Besides these is Alkali Test, which needs soaking of rice samples in potassium hydroxide for 23 hours. Jasmine rice will disperse into powder but other kinds of white rice will stay in the same condition. Data are then collected for statistic background.
 
 

Only rice hat passed the above 4 tests are transported to the Intake. Staffs are dressed securely and a podium is presence to avoid any physical contacts with the rice. Rice must go through preliminary cleaning before storing in a silo. Rice is transported by Belt Conveyer to be stored in a silo. Processing begins with cleaning by magnetic separator, which will remove all metal debris such as nails and wires from the rice.
 
 

In Pre Cleaner stage, larger remains such as strings are removed. Next, a Fine Cleaner stage, which the final cleaning is executed by Bag Filter to vacuum dust and other small particles from rice grain.Next, the Destoner will remove splinters in the rice by using siphon principle. Rice grain will be drawn up by strong air suction to let splinters fall off by gravity.
 
 

Cleaned rice will proceed to whitening and polishing process. Whitening Machine will whiten rice grain then a Polishing Machine will polish rice grain for a desirable look. Processed rice will now go through sifting process. Starting at Rotary Sifter, which will separate rice into Head Rice, Mixed Rice, and Big Broken Rice. The Mixed Rice portion is put into Indent Cylinder to be re-separated into Head Rice, Big Broken Rice, Medium Broken Rice, and Small Broken Rice. When different type of rice is obtained, rice is then blended together in an according ratio to export regulation. Next is color inspection by a Color Sorter, which implements advanced technology using 2 sets of Photo CCD Sensor to detect rice passing through a camera. A camera begins transmitting signal to detect any rice grain different in color from a standard. Detection will activate air blower, which will blow out defected rice grain into
bad rice vent. Standardized rice will be kept in containers for further packing. All production process at Uthai Produce Co., Ltd. are automated and controlled by advanced, computerized Interlock system, which enable all machineries full time automation.
 
 

Besides production process, packing is as equally important, which has made products from Uthai Produce Co., Ltd. accepted worldwide. Packing is done in both semi-automatics, which employs labors in putting on sacks, and full automatic. Both are highly accurate and are controlled by digital weighting machine. Weight is rechecked while on conveying belt by Weight Checker, which checks the final weight to sort out over- or under- weighted pack immediately. More over, during loading, each and every pack must go through metal detection for any metal item inside a pack by a Metal Detector. We will make a test by putting metal item on a pack. When the pack passes through a Metal Detector, it will be detected and sorted out as well. Loading rice packs onto a truck by conveying belt is observed by an Automatic Counting Machine, which has a sensor to link with the whole loading system. The truck itself must also go through inspection. A container is checked before loading and is insecticide after loading is completed to prevent from moth and other insects.
